...what does your logo say about you?
There is an obvious reason to have a logo…
… to distinguish your products or services from your competitor’s.
An underlying reason is to associate your symbol or mark with a concept.
With a logo you are creating an identity. A logo should visually communicate a unique message. The concept communicated can be straight forward or something that requires some intuition on the part of the viewer. As long as the symbol or typeface design has the visual appeal to earn a second or third “glance”, an abstract or conceptual approach can be used.
Logo Design:
- The concept of “Less is More” definitely applies to Logo design.
A simple, uncluttered look will be more appealing to the viewer.
-
A logo needs to be proportioned so that it remains legible enlarged for a billboard or reduced to fit onto your business card.
- A logo should transfer easily to black and white (for use in print advertising, fax cover sheets, embossing, etc.).
